Barrier Island Trolling / Bottom Fishing

Get ready for an exciting day on the water, just 10-15 miles offshore around our barrier islands. The barrier islands around Biloxi are a unique and abundant fishery, thanks to the nutrient-rich waters provided by the Mississippi River.  This trip is perfect for families and anglers of all skill levels. We’ll be chasing down King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Cobia, Redfish, Sheepshead and Sharks.

Target Species

Biloxi offers excellent fishing year-round. Depending on the season, we’ll focus on different techniques to target an exciting range of fish. During the summer and fall (May-November), we’ll primarily be trolling for King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Cobia, and Redfish. Sharks are also active and available to catch.

In the winter and spring (December-April), we’ll shift to bottom fishing, primarily targeting Sheepshead and Drum around wrecks and structures. These fish provide thrilling action on light tackle, with Sheepshead weighing up to 10-12 pounds being prized for their fight and flavor.

Where We Fish

We’ll be fishing the nutrient-rich waters around the Mississippi Sound’s barrier islands, where the Gulf of Mexico meets the Mississippi River. These islands, at least 10 miles long and skinny, are a haven for baitfish, making them the perfect spot to catch a variety of species. The waters around these islands range from 12-40 feet deep, providing ideal conditions for both trolling and bottom fishing.
